...FLOOD WARNING FOR A DAM FLOODGATE RELEASE NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 730
PM EDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by upstream dam release continues.

* WHERE...A portion of east Tennessee, including the following
  counties, Knox and Sevier.

* WHEN...Until 730 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 429 PM EDT, releases from Douglas Lake continue to produce
    some downstream flooding in low-lying communities and
    neighborhoods along the French Broad River. We have reports
    that the entrance of Deerfield Mobile home park is still
    under 2 to 3 feet of water for example, and some other nearby
    homes along the river still have water in them as well. Per
    coordination with Sevier County EMA, the flood warning has
    been extended another 24 hours. If you live in a low-lying
    area near the river and feel your residence may be
    threatened, please self-evacuate. Continue to follow guidance
    from local law enforcement, fire/rescue agencies, and
    emergency management staff.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
